Their real crime was raising their daughters too well, and not giving domestic intelligence access to them, to sabotage them. The judge was making examples of these parents to dissuade others from following in their paths.
Notice he was particularly aghast they were not exposed to the sabotaging cultural bullshit, like degenerate music. These parents did exactly what they were supposed to.
It would be interesting to know how the operation parallel constructed the path to get them into court. My bet would be domestic intel send somebody in to become a “family friend” and had them get access and then file a complaint. Or the parents allowed some other adults, like a piano teacher, access to the kids, and they filed the complaint. You cannot imagine how complex the manipulations domestic intel will employ can be until you see them. They can map out months of introducing social contacts, sabotaging the old piano teacher so they have to move far away, or offer them a lucrative position to cause them to cease teaching, and then have a “friend” recommend the new teacher. You have to be on guard for things which seem unusually coincidental, or especially, if it seems overly fortuitous.
That is the problem with honeypots. If they cannot explain how the government came to notice you, they cannot drag you into bullshit like this. But the moment you give somebody access to you, or worse yet, vouch for their credibility by accepting them as a willing social contact, or even romantic contact, you open all sorts of doors to getting dragged into things like this.
It is a weird world, with a whole granular operation looking for the slaves who escaped the plantation, one by one, to try and drag them back and put them under the thumb of the conspiracy.
Anyway, there is a lesson here for those parents who might consider homeschooling, and who aspire to prevent domestic intelligence/surveillance from sabotaging their children. You will probably have to isolate yourself in ways which would make it difficult for the state to explain how it came to know the exact circumstances around your child.
